I have done a little bit of everything - from running an art gallery to advocating good animal husbandry to developing a distinguished drinks palate. I dig cats with captions, video games, and local music. I am also a certified dice-roller, a regular Sci-fi and Fantasy junkie, and a devoted student of dance.

When my best friend started dancing in college, I wanted to learn more, and was immediately smitten with the art. I began my dance training with the Aalim School of Dance in 2007, and have been a devoted student of Middle Eastern and American Tribal Style® dance ever since.

After several years of American- and Egyptian- cabaret classes, I connected with Minnesota’s first FCBD® sister studio, Kamala Chaand Dance Company, and began attending weekly classes, but felt that once a week was not enough.

Taking up to four classes a week, watching videos, and going to workshops, I gained confidence in my dance abilities. I was asked to join KCDC’s performance troupe, and eventuallt became the Assistant Director of Kamala Chaand Dance Company and director of its student troupe, Sohalia Tribal. After several years of dedication, I took over as Artistic Director and owner of the rebranded KCDC Dance Company.

I have gained an immense amount of self-confidence since I began dancing, and I find little else brings me as much joy as sharing belly dance with others. My love of the dance, the music, and the friendships I have gained within the local and global dance community have inspired me to teach

In the spring of 2015, following a weekend of performances at the Festival Of Nations, I was asked to join (and accepted) Al-Bahira Middle Eastern Dance Theater.

In 2023, I moved my home base from Minneapolis, MN to Washburn, WI.
